As a Marvel fan, I’ve been eagerly tracking the latest developments coming out of Las Vegas, where CinemaCon 2025 is currently underway at Caesars Palace. With just a few months to go before the highly anticipated release of “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” on July 25, Marvel Studios has been making waves with exclusive footage and announcements that have set the fan community abuzz.
Kevin Feige and his team at Marvel have been busy showcasing what’s coming in Phase Six of the MCU. The studio transported attendees through time to the 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world of “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” directed by Matt Shakman. This film will officially kick off Phase Six, marking a crucial new chapter in the Multiverse Saga.
But that’s not all Marvel has been showing off. They’ve also unveiled new footage from “Thunderbolts*” which releases today! The footage featured Florence Pugh, David Harbour, and other cast members engaged in a brutal fight scene, with glimpses of The Sentry (played by Lewis Pullman) wreaking havoc in New York. From what attendees have described, this appears to be exactly what fans have been hoping for-a major event film with plenty of new developments.
I remember attending a smaller comic convention last year where speculation about Phase Six was rampant. Everyone had theories about how the Fantastic Four would be introduced, but nobody predicted the 1960s retro-futuristic approach that Marvel is taking. It’s this kind of creative surprise that keeps the MCU fresh after all these years.
Looking beyond “The Fantastic Four,” Marvel’s Phase Six lineup is taking shape with some major tentpole films. “Avengers: Doomsday” is scheduled for May 1, 2026, followed by “Spider-Man 4” on July 31, 2026, and culminating with “Avengers: Secret Wars” on May 7, 2027. The recent bombshell that Robert Downey Jr. will return to the MCU-not as Iron Man but as Doctor Doom-has added another layer of excitement to these upcoming projects.
For fans wanting to stay on top of all the Marvel news, I’d recommend following the official Marvel social media accounts during major events like CinemaCon. The studio often drops hints and teasers that reward attentive followers. Additionally, creating a viewing schedule to catch up on any MCU content you’ve missed before “The Fantastic Four” releases would be wise-especially with how interconnected the multiverse storylines are becoming.
What I find most fascinating about Marvel’s approach to Phase Six is how they’re balancing nostalgia with innovation. The Fantastic Four are Marvel’s “First Family” in the comics, and giving them a period setting allows the studio to honor their 1960s origins while still keeping them fresh for modern audiences.
As CinemaCon 2025 continues, we can expect more reveals and surprises from Marvel Studios. Whether you’re a die-hard fan who’s seen every MCU project or a casual viewer who enjoys the occasional superhero film, Phase Six promises to deliver spectacle, heart, and the interconnected storytelling that has made Marvel a cultural phenomenon.
