Jenna Ortega, the rising star known for her roles in Wednesday and Scream, recently opened up about her brief and largely forgettable appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film Iron Man 3. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Ortega reflected on her experience, stating that she has “moved on” from the idea of participating in another Marvel project.

Ortega’s role in Iron Man 3, released in 2013, was notably minor. She played the Vice President’s daughter, but her lines were cut from the final edit, leaving her with a fleeting moment on screen. “I did it once,” Ortega recalled. “It was one of the first jobs I ever did. They took all my lines out. I’m in Iron Man 3 for a quick second; I take up the frame… and I’m the Vice President’s daughter.” This experience has led her to feel less enthusiastic about returning to the MCU.

Despite the potential for a larger role in future Marvel projects, Ortega expressed her disinterest. “They even took my name away,” she remarked, indicating that her brief stint left a less-than-favorable impression. Paul Rudd, her co-star in the upcoming film Death of a Unicorn, humorously suggested that Marvel might revisit her character someday, noting that the studio is known for planting seeds for future storylines. However, Ortega remains skeptical about rejoining the franchise.

Since her time in Iron Man 3, Ortega has enjoyed significant success, landing roles in various high-profile projects such as Beetlejuice and Netflix’s Wednesday. With several upcoming films and series on her plate, including a second season of Wednesday and The Weeknd’s debut feature film, Hurry Up Tomorrow, Ortega is focused on expanding her career beyond the MCU.

While fans may have hoped to see Ortega join the Marvel universe again, it seems she is content with her current trajectory. Her comments reflect a growing sentiment among actors who have had similar experiences with minor roles in large franchises. As she continues to build her brand and take on more substantial roles, it appears that Jenna Ortega is ready to leave her brief encounter with Marvel behind.

As the MCU continues to evolve and expand, fans will be watching closely to see how new characters are introduced and how existing ones are developed. While Jenna Ortega may not be part of that future, her star power is undeniable, and she remains a formidable presence in Hollywood.
