The Fantastic Four are among Marvel’s most iconic teams. But if they ever faced DC’s mightiest heroes in a friendly—or not-so-friendly—battle, how would they fare? Here’s a look at ten of the strongest DC characters who could realistically defeat the Fantastic Four, based on power, tactics, and legacy.
1. Superman
Superman’s alien abilities, speed, and strength give him a clear edge against virtually every member of the Fantastic Four, including the combined might of the team. Mr. Fantastic’s stretchy intellect would be sorely tested against someone who can move planets and outpace light.
2. Wonder Woman
Armed with godly powers and unbreakable tools, Wonder Woman can counter both energy attacks and physical force. Her agility, skill, and combat experience exceed even that of the Thing or Human Torch.
3. Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)

Hal Jordan’s ring makes his willpower reality—energy constructs, force fields, and cosmic travel. The Human Torch’s fire and even Mr. Fantastic’s flexibility would struggle against a hero who can trap or disarm his foes with a thought.
4. Martian Manhunter
J’onn J’onzz combines telepathy, intangibility, shape-shifting, and Superman-level strength. The Fantastic Four’s teamwork is legendary, but J’onn’s ability to read minds gives him a massive tactical edge.
5. Flash (Barry Allen)
Flash’s control over time and physics lets him outmaneuver and outthink the Fantastic Four at lightspeed. Even with Sue Storm’s invisibility, Barry can see and react across timelines.
6. Mister Miracle & Big Barda

Scott Free’s escape artistry and cosmic tech, paired with Barda’s unstoppable strength and warrior’s heart, would confound any Reed Richards plan. Their Fourth World origins give them access to technology that dwarfs even Fantastic Four inventions.
7. Doctor Fate
The magical might and ancient wisdom of Doctor Fate are beyond the reach of science. Good luck countering spells and mystic shields, Fantastic Four!
8. Zatanna
Zatanna’s backwards-casting magic can transform reality with a single command, making her nearly impossible for the team to predict or contain.
9. Shazam
With the power of gods, Shazam (Billy Batson) is a match for any cosmic-level threat. His lightning could easily overwhelm even the Thing or the Invisible Woman.
10. The Terrifics
The Terrifics are DC’s response to the Fantastic Four, led by Mister Terrific, with a lineup echoing Marvel’s first family in both brains and brawn. In head-to-head tactics and gadgets, the Terrifics match or exceed the Fantastic Four’s legacy.

The DC and Marvel universes both have teams and heroes that define what’s possible—on the page and the screen. But in most direct matchups, it’s hard to argue against DC’s absolute heavyweights walking away with the win.
